A series of reports on learning, thinking and practicing along the footsteps of General Secretary | Promoting the spirit of Xiaogang and continuing to write a new chapter of reform - A side note on on-site teaching in Xiaogang Village, Provincial Party School (Anhui Administrative College)

Xiaogang Village is the main birthplace of rural reform in China. On the afternoon of April 25, 2016, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Xiaogang Village for inspection and presided over a rural reform symposium. General Secretary praised Xiaogang Village's pioneering work as a spring thunder of China's reform and opening up, and hoped that Xiaogang Village would continue to play a demonstrative role in deepening rural reform. In order to deeply study and implement the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of Anhui, recently, students from the second branch of the 85th and 86th Philosophy and Social Science Teaching and Research Backbone Training Class of the Provincial Party School (Anhui Administrative College) went to Xiaogang Village for on-site teaching, to understand the original intention of reform, promote the spirit of Xiaogang, and contribute their own strength in further deepening the reform comprehensively.

Realizing the spirit of Xiaogang and continuing the reform gene

On a winter night in 1978, 18 "life and death contracts" pressed with red handprints were quietly displayed on the table in the "Da Bao Gan" signature room of the "Former Farmhouse" courtyard in Xiaogang Village, witnessing the courage of the 18 villagers who dared to be the first in the world. On the yellowed pages, the words' We divide the land into households... If we don't succeed, our cadres are willing to be imprisoned and beheaded 'made the students pause and ponder, and a sense of admiration and mission arose. Wang Jie, from Anhui Normal University, deeply felt and said, "Through on-site learning, we have come to deeply understand the profound meaning of General Secretary Xi Jinping's statement that 'what we did with our own lives and family back then became a thunderbolt of China's reform and a symbol of China's reform.' We must vigorously promote the spirit of 'reform and innovation, daring to be the first' and strive to be the 'pioneers' in the reform

In a conversation with the leaders of the "Big Package" initiative, Guan Youjiang and Yan Jinchang, the two elderly people not only deeply recalled the historical scene of signing the Big Package contract with their own lives, but also proudly introduced the earth shaking changes that have taken place in Xiaogang Village since the reform and opening up, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Now Xiaogang Village is "not worried about food and clothing, and every household lives in small western-style buildings". The two elderly people passionately said that without the good policies of the Party, there would be no happy life in Xiaogang Village today. After listening to the speeches of two elderly people, the students were deeply shocked and inspired.

Subsequently, Zhang Xiaoliang, Vice Dean and Associate Professor of the School of Marxism at the Provincial Party School (Anhui Administrative College), gave a special lecture on the "Spirit of Xiaogang", which deeply explained the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Xiaogang, comprehensively reviewed the process of agricultural large-scale reform, and deeply explained the connotation of Xiaogang spirit, helping students further deepen their understanding of Xiaogang spirit, grasp the internal logic of reform, and draw on the driving force of reform spirit. Gao Lili from Huishang Vocational College said that we need to integrate the spirit of Xiaogang into the entire process of educating students, and educate and guide them to be like the reformers of the past, daring to break through, down-to-earth, and use their learned skills to serve industrial upgrading and rural revitalization, and write a youthful answer sheet in the places where our country needs it the most.

Shen Hao was the former first secretary of the Xiaogang Village Party Committee. In February 2004, he was selected by Anhui Province to serve as a rural cadre in Xiaogang Village. On November 6, 2009, he sacrificed his life on the front line of work due to illness. In 2010, he was posthumously awarded the title of "National Excellent Communist Party Member". The special courses of "The First Secretary" in film and television teaching and "Learning the Spirit of Shen Hao and Being a Good Cadre inseparable from the Masses" by Tong Zifan, a teacher from the Chuzhou Municipal Party School (School of Administration), tell the touching story of Comrade Shen Hao's selfless feelings of rooting himself in the grassroots, serving the people wholeheartedly, and working tirelessly, leading the villagers of Xiaogang to continue promoting reform, development, and wealth creation, and achieving another new leap forward in Xiaogang Village. Shen Hao's spirit deeply infected every student present. From Comrade Shen Hao, I deeply appreciate the original intention of dedicating to the people. Party members and cadres should take the needs of the masses as the starting point, take responsibility and practical work as the methodology, keep in mind the original intention and mission, sincerely serve the masses, and become a good cadre trusted by the masses in the new era, "said Wang Yukun from Anhui University of Technology with emotion.

At the Shen Hao Memorial Hall, pictures and physical objects showcase the little things that Comrade Shen Hao did in Xiaogang Village. The faded notebook recorded trivial matters such as "solving the subsistence allowance for the Xu family" and "helping the Han family repair the roof"; Wearing old leather shoes, covered in soil from road construction sites, witnessing him tread every inch of the village's land; The private car with mottled paint tells the selfless dedication of "sharing private cars and paying for fuel"; Three red handprint letters, connected by the deep affection of 'We cannot do without Secretary Shen'. When the students read Shen Hao's diary, the vow of "Devoting all my efforts to Xiaogang, I am worth it!" resonated deeply with their hearts. Comrade Shen Hao rooted himself in the small post, led the team with practical work and dedication, and revitalized the village, making the small post once again attract attention. We should take him as an example and become a party member and cadre who can integrate into the masses, dedicate to the masses, and lead by example

Practice has proven that only through reform can there be a way out, and reform must be constantly talked about and updated. "Li Wenju, associate professor of the Marxism School at the Provincial Party School (Anhui Administrative College), said in his on-site teaching summary that on the new journey, we must deeply implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on the inspection of Anhui, inherit and promote the spirit of Xiaogang, take Comrade Shen Hao as an example, keep in mind the original aspiration and mission, be brave in taking on responsibilities, and contribute to the vigorous writing of a Chinese style modernization chapter in Anhui.
