Langya Mountain

Langya Mountain is named after the title bestowed upon it by Emperor Yuan of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Sima Ruiwang. It is located in the southwest of Chuzhou City, integrating the city and mountains, with rich historical and cultural resources and beautiful natural landscapes. It is the location of the "Number One Pavilion in the World" Zuiweng Pavilion, a national 5A level tourist attraction, a national level scenic spot, and a national forest park.

Langyashan Scenic Area covers an area of 115 square kilometers, including three major areas: Zuiwengting area, Puxian area, and Qingliuguan area. The Langya Mountain Scenic Area is located in the Zuiweng Pavilion area, covering an area of 4.98 square kilometers. It is an accumulation of historical and cultural resources as well as ecological landscape resources in Langya Mountain, including the Zuiweng Pavilion Cultural Theme Area, Tongyuan Study Tour Area, Langya Secret Scenic Area, Nantianmen Tourist Range Area, and Shenxiu Lake Leisure and Sports Area.

Langya Mountain is a cultural famous mountain. Since the Tang Dynasty, a large number of historical figures such as Li Youqing, Wei Yingwu, Ouyang Xiu, Su Shi, Zeng Gong, Wang Anshi, Xin Qiji, Song Lian, Wang Yangming, and Wen Zhengming have left behind a large number of works about Langya Mountain. The famous Song Dynasty literary figure Ouyang Xiu's "Record of the Drunken Weng Pavilion" has become a popular phrase throughout the ages, stating that "the meaning of the Drunken Weng is not wine, but between mountains and waters". The Drunken Weng Pavilion is also known as the "Number One Pavilion in the World". There are 2 national key cultural relics protection units in the scenic area - Langya Mountain Cliff Stone Carvings and Steles (especially the seven Tang Dynasty cliffs and Su Shi's handwritten "Zuiweng Pavilion Record" stele are rare treasures) and Wuliang Hall, and 4 provincial key cultural relics protection units - Tang Dynasty Langya Temple Ancient Architecture Group, Five Dynasties Jianliuguan, Song Dynasty Zuiweng Pavilion Ancient Architecture Group, and Fengle Pavilion Ancient Architecture Group.

Langya Mountain is an ecologically pure land. Located in a humid monsoon climate zone with distinct four seasons, pleasant scenery, abundant animal and plant resources, and a forest coverage rate of over 85%, Langya elm and Zuiwengyu are rare tree species unique to Langya Mountain. Ouyang Xiu's hand planted plum "Oumei" is one of the four major plum longevity stars in China. Langya Creek, Glass Marsh, Rangquan, Zhuoying Spring and other mountain springs, as well as Guiyun Cave, Xuehong Cave, Chongxi Cave and other caves, are the scenic spots of Langya Mountain's "Nine Caves and Eighteen Springs".
