Haozhou Paper Cutting

Haozhou Paper Cuttings is an ancient folk Paper Cuttings in northern Anhui and the Huaihe River basin. In style, it has both the delicacy of the south and the coarseness of the north. In 2022, it was introduced into the handicraft workshop of Xiaogang Village and became a beautiful scenery in the exhibition of Xiaogang Village's intangible cultural heritage. Its content mainly focuses on rural life scenes, theatrical characters, and practical propaganda, showcasing the local characteristics of northern Anhui. Tang Jiashan and Jia Wenzheng, the inheritors of Haozhou Paper Cuttings, taught Paper Cuttings to children. Their unique Paper Cuttings craft and unique Paper Cuttings works were loved by many research students.

Lecturer: Jia Wenzheng, learning from Tang Jiashan, a famous paper-cut artist in Haozhou. With love and enthusiasm for inheriting intangible cultural heritage, we took root in Xiaogang Village Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop and explained and learned the unique skills of Haozhou Paper Cuttings to students.
