Selected manuscripts from the summer "Three Down to the Countryside" practical activity for college students | Anhui University of Finance and Economics: Following the footsteps of reform, seeking spiritual bloodline, and passing on the torch of small posts with cultural and creative ideas

In order to inherit the spirit of Xiaogang and promote rural revitalization, the summer social practice team of Xiaogang Red Creative Pioneer Team from the School of Arts, Anhui University of Finance and Economics went deep into Xiaogang Village, Fengyang County, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province on July 25th, exploring the theme of "Inheritance Path and Innovative Practice of Xiaogang Village Reform Spirit in Red Cultural and Creative Product Design".

Reform Avenue: Touching the Era's Context, Anchoring Spiritual Coordinates

The first stop of practice, the team embarked on the path of reform. This road that witnesses Xiaogang Village's transition from "daring to reform" to "pursuing dreams and revitalizing" connects the past and present of Xiaogang Village. Classmates walked along the main road, recalling the story of 18 farmers who pressed the "red handprint" and opened the way for rural reform. They felt the power of the reform spirit of "daring to break through, daring to try, and daring to be the first" accumulated in the years. The flourishing scene of industrial development in Xiaogang Village in the new era beside the avenue allows everyone to intuitively experience the continuation and practical achievements of the reform spirit, anchoring the spiritual coordinates of "inheriting the reform gene" for cultural and creative design.

Back in the day farmers: Tracing back to the origin of struggle, extracting design inspiration

Following the path of reform, students walked into the "rural areas of the past", where simple adobe houses and outdated farming tools instantly transported time back to the early days of reform and opening up. On the night of 1978, when history was rewritten, 18 villagers secretly signed a "big contract" and fired the first shot of rural reform. The hardworking attitude of the people of Xiaogang Village, who strive for change and practicality, has become a source of inspiration for students to extract design ideas. Everyone is using cameras to capture rural scenes, and the plan is to integrate this simple "struggle background" into cultural and creative activities, making historical memories tangible.

Exhibition Hall of Comrade Shen Hao's Advanced Deeds: Inheriting the Spirit of Dedication and Expanding the Dimension of Spirit

At the Exhibition Hall of Comrade Shen Hao's Advanced Deeds, students were deeply moved by Comrade Shen Hao's spirit of dedication in rooting himself in Xiaogang and leading villagers to poverty alleviation and prosperity. The displayed work notes and the scene of villagers bidding farewell tell of the responsibility and commitment of "rooting at the grassroots level and serving the people wholeheartedly". The spirit of dedication of grassroots cadres in this new era has expanded the connotation of the spirit of Xiaogang Village. The team members expressed their intention to integrate the spirit of "reform+dedication" into cultural and creative design, and to convey the inheritance and sublimation of the spirit of Xiaogang Village in the new era.

Design Empowerment: Let Spirit "Live" in Cultural and Creative Industry

During the practical process, students visited, researched, and discussed the design, transforming the spirit of Xiaogang Village into concrete symbols: using the "red handprint" to symbolize the courage to reform, using the scene of "farming in the past" to convey the original aspiration of struggle, and interpreting the dedication and responsibility through the deeds of Shen Hao. At present, calendars, environmental bags, stationery and other cultural and creative embryonic forms have emerged, which not only retain the traditional flavor of Paper Cuttings art, but also integrate into modern design language. Through outdoor publicity scenes, the exhibition design reflects the diversified communication attempt of Xiaogang Village spirit from concept to landing application, so that the spirit can be integrated into daily and public space, and the spirit of Xiaogang Village can be "seen, taken away, and spread".

During their trip to Xiaogang Village, students from the School of Art at Anhui University of Finance and Economics used their majors as a bridge to build an innovative path of "spiritual inheritance design transformation cultural dissemination". In the future, these cultural and creative products that embody the spirit of Xiaogang Village will go beyond campuses and enter the public, allowing the red genes to shine even brighter in the new era.
